略歴

島袋道浩
しまぶく みちひろ(美術家)

1969年、神戸市出身。現在、那覇市を拠点に世界各地で活動。
1990年代初頭より国内外の多くの場所を旅し、その場所やそこに生きる人々の生活や文化、新しいコミュニケーションのあり方に関するパフォーマンス、映像、彫刻、インスタレーション作品などを制作。その作品は時に生き物と人間との関係にも及ぶ。 詩情とユーモアに溢れながらもメタフォリカルに人々を触発するような作風は世界的な評価を得ている。
